Our Story: A Legacy in Every Line

At WeddingKetubah.com, we believe a ketubah is more than a wedding document. It is one of the first meaningful pieces of art a couple chooses together—a reflection of their love, their values, and the home they are beginning to build.

It is also something that can preserve a family’s story for generations.

The Discovery That Inspired Us

The idea behind WeddingKetubah.com began with an unexpected family discovery nearly 15 years ago.

After a pipe burst in my grandparents’ home, we rushed to rescue whatever we could from the damage. During the cleanup, we discovered the ketubot of my great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather.

Holding those documents gave us more than names and dates. They opened a door to a part of our family history that had nearly been forgotten. These were not simply old marriage contracts; they were tangible links connecting one generation to the next.

That discovery changed the way I understood the meaning of a ketubah and eventually helped inspire the creation of WeddingKetubah.com.

The flowers fade, the music ends, and the wedding day passes quickly. The ketubah remains—a lasting testament to love, commitment, faith, and heritage.

Founded by Josh Schulman

WeddingKetubah.com was founded in 2023 by Josh Schulman, an American-born Jewish entrepreneur with a deep personal connection to ketubah history and tradition.

Josh grew up in a Jewish home, speaks Hebrew, and now lives in Israel. He remains closely involved in the company and often personally helps couples with questions about Hebrew names, wedding dates, parents’ names, signature lines, ceremony traditions, and text options.

Since receiving our first order in November 2023, WeddingKetubah.com has helped more than 1,000 couples create ketubahs for their weddings.

More Than 100 Carefully Selected Designs

Choosing a ketubah should feel meaningful, not overwhelming.

Our collection includes more than 100 modern and traditional ketubah designs, including watercolors, papercuts, floral artwork, contemporary Jewish art, and minimalist styles.

Rather than presenting couples with thousands of similar choices, we focus on a thoughtfully curated collection representing different artistic styles, traditions, and budgets.

Our goal is not simply to offer the most designs. It is to help each couple find the one that feels right for their wedding and their home.

More Than 25 Ketubah Text Options

Every couple and every ceremony are different.

We offer more than 25 ketubah text options for Orthodox, Conservative, Reform, egalitarian, interfaith, LGBTQ+, secular, and culturally Jewish ceremonies.

Couples may select one of our prepared texts or submit their own wording. Our team helps explain the available choices and personalize names, dates, locations, signature lines, and gender-specific language to fit the needs of the ceremony.

We are familiar with traditional Orthodox requirements as well as the wording commonly used for Conservative, Reform, interfaith, and LGBTQ+ weddings. However, the couple’s rabbi or officiant always has the final authority over the wording used at the ceremony.

Hebrew Review and Officiant Approval

Every personalized ketubah is reviewed by members of our Hebrew editorial team.

Our native Hebrew editors work under the supervision of Achva, who also assists with more complex names, wording, and ceremony-specific requests. A second Hebrew editor reviews the final proof before the ketubah is approved for printing.

Our team checks details including:

  • Hebrew and civil dates
  • Whether the wedding takes place before or after sunset
  • Hebrew names and parents’ names
  • City and location spellings
  • Gender-specific wording
  • Signature lines
  • Ceremony and text selections

Hebrew names and locations may have more than one legitimate spelling. Just as a name may have several accepted spellings in English, there may also be multiple correct ways to write a name in Hebrew.

For that reason, we encourage every couple to have their rabbi or officiant review and approve the final ketubah text. Our role is to prepare the wording carefully, explain the available options, and make requested revisions before printing.

Personalized and Carefully Proofed

Personalized orders include the couple’s names, Hebrew and civil wedding dates, and wedding location added to the selected ketubah text.

The first digital proof is generally prepared within three business days after we receive the couple’s completed information. Couples may request unlimited revisions before approving the ketubah for printing.

Most completed orders arrive approximately two weeks after final text approval. Couples who submit their information promptly can generally complete the entire process in less than three weeks.

Our process includes:

  • Personal assistance from our team
  • Careful Hebrew review
  • More than 25 text choices
  • A complete digital proof before printing
  • Unlimited revisions before approval
  • Personalization of names, dates, and wedding location
  • Free shipping within the United States

Personal Service from a Specialized Team

WeddingKetubah.com combines the convenience and selection of an online ketubah store with the personal attention of a specialized company.

Couples are not left to navigate complicated Hebrew wording or ceremony details on their own. Someone from our team is available to answer questions, explain the available options, coordinate with rabbis and officiants, and guide each order from the initial selection through final approval.

Josh also personally answers many customer questions and remains closely involved in the ordering and text-preparation process.

What distinguishes WeddingKetubah.com is the combination of:

  • Original and carefully selected artwork
  • Personal customer service
  • Native Hebrew editors
  • Knowledge of Jewish wedding traditions and halachic details
  • Inclusive text choices
  • Digital proofing and unlimited revisions
  • Personalization of names, dates, and location
  • Free U.S. shipping

Whether a couple is planning a traditional Orthodox ceremony, an interfaith wedding, an LGBTQ+ celebration, or a ceremony that is culturally Jewish, we want them to feel understood, respected, and welcomed.

Created to Last for Generations

Every ketubah is printed on archival-quality paper selected to complement its particular design.

Our standard material is a slightly textured, museum-quality 300 gsm paper. Papercut and specialty ketubahs may use different materials chosen specifically for their construction and artwork.

Each ketubah is professionally printed with the goal of preserving its artwork and text so it can remain part of the couple’s home and family for generations.

The ketubot discovered in my grandparents’ home survived long enough to reconnect our family with generations that came before us. Our hope is that every ketubah we create will carry that same potential—to commemorate a wedding day, enrich a new home, and one day become part of a family’s history.

We are honored to help each couple create something personal, beautiful, carefully prepared, and made to last.
