From the Artist
I left the borders unfinished so Jerusalem feels as though it continues beyond the page—its stone walls, rooftops, and hidden courtyards extending past the frame. The line work moves between careful architectural detail and looser, searching marks, capturing both the structure of the city and its living, breathing energy. By layering arches, stairways, domes, and clustered buildings so closely together, I wanted the composition to echo the way Jerusalem’s history is built one generation upon another. The open white space keeps the piece light and gives your eye room to wander, so the ketubah feels less like a polished reproduction and more like a personal sketch drawn while standing inside Jerusalem. בתוך ירושלים itself.
Artist: Suri Michaeli
Jerusalem Old City Line Art Ketubah
This elegant black-and-white ketubah is inspired by the homes, rooftops, arches, and ancient stone beauty of Jerusalem’s Old City. Jerusalem holds deep meaning at a Jewish wedding, symbolizing holiness, Jewish memory, and the joy of building a future rooted in tradition. Under the chuppah, we remember Jerusalem with the words, “If I forget you, O Jerusalem,” connecting the couple’s personal happiness to the larger story and continuity of the Jewish people.
Its timeless black-and-white palette complements nearly any frame or home décor, making it a meaningful choice for couples seeking an elegant Jerusalem ketubah with a deeply personal artistic character.
